    Uttarakhand tunnel collapse: Frequent obstacles delay rescue operation; option to use manual cutters not ruled out https://cutt.ly/0eIRtcu

    Rescue operation in the collapsed portion of Sikyara tunnel was delayed due to frequent obstacles of iron girders. The option of clearing the remaining stretch by experienced manual cutters is under consideration. Auger machine had to be stopped thrice during horizontal drilling. Steel lattice girders have been cut twice using gas cutters. Around 45-47 meters have been covered, with around 17-20 meters remaining.
